La Malagueta cultural centre is currently hosting a photographic exhibition which explores Holy Week in different municipalities across the province of Malaga.

'An Inner Journey' consists of shots taken by photographer and journalist Txema Rodríguez in nine inland municipalities, showcasing the richness, diversity and uniqueness with which Semana Santa is experienced in each of them.

Among these towns are Frigiliana, Casarabonela, Archidona, Coín and Cártama, the processions and Holy Week traditions of which are celebrated for their originality. Unlike the huge events held in cities like Malaga, these smaller Easter processions allow visitors to better understand what is actually going on.

Through the lens of Txema Rodríguez, visitors are invited to immerse themselves in an intimate and emotional vision of this tradition, focusing on the rituals that form part of one of the most deeply rooted cultural expressions in the region.

The free exhibition can be viewed until the beginning of May from Tuesday to Friday between 9am and 2pm, and from 4pm to 6pm. On Saturday and Sunday it opens between 11am and 2pm, and from 3pm until 6pm, although the exhibition centre will be closed on Good Friday, Saturday 4 April and Easter Sunday.
