This season, we’re launching a weekly series at PFF that provides a behind-the-scenes look at our grading process. Each week, we’ll break down some of the highest-graded individual plays, complete with tweets to show you the action.
Here are a few standout plays from Week 16.

We seem to see an incredible Caleb Williams throw every week, but the best play of his young career came Saturday night against the Green Bay Packers. The Bears had the ball at the Packers’ 46-yard line in overtime when Williams dropped back to pass, but the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft was between his own 44- and 45-yard lines when the ball left his hand. It traveled 57 yards in the air before finding wide receiver D.J. Moore perfectly in stride. The throw is the highest-graded pass of the year so far and the only one to receive a +2.0 PFF grade.

This touchdown run by RJ Harvey highlights the elements that factor into PFF’s grading of running backs. Harvey makes a strong initial cut at the line of scrimmage to pick up a handful of yards before breaking multiple tackles in quick succession. He then sprinted for the goal line, diving through the final tackle attempt to score. The combination of events on the play resulted in a +2.0 PFF grade.
Ashton Jeanty’s long touchdown reception

Ashton Jeanty has quietly put together a solid season on a struggling Raiders team, and yesterday marked one of his best performances to date. In addition to a long touchdown run, he also recorded this touchdown reception, which earned a +1.5 PFF grade. That grade resulted from a big catch downfield followed by a broken tackle on his way to the end zone.
This sack by Abdul Carter

The third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft has been on a strong run of form over the past three weeks, and this play is a clear example of how the Giants are using both him and his skill set. Lined up over the center as a linebacker, Carter was sent on the blitz, beating his blocker with a spin move before bringing quarterback Max Brosner down to earn a +1.5 PFF grade on the play.
